ERG to Develop New Calculator Detailing Environmental Benefits of Green Electronics Purchases

ERG was recently awarded a new contract to help the Green Electronics Council develop a new web-based, environmental benefits calculator tool. The calculator will allow purchasers to measure the benefits of buying electronic products that meet the council’s EPEAT ecolabel sustainability requirements. It will also help purchasers build a business case for preferring EPEAT-registered IT products and documenting program success for their internal and external constituencies. This work will build on ERG’s previous support to EPA in developing the Electronics Environmental Benefits Calculator.
