Project Brief

Worksite health and wellness programs promote and support employee health and work-life balance. In 2012, ERG helped the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency create and launch “A Healthier EPA,” the Agency’s employee health and wellness program, to promote health awareness and education; nutrition and fitness; health screening programs; emergency and life-saving services; and other support services, including ergonomics, flu shots, maternal wellness.

ERG has supported “A Healthier EPA” continuously since 2012 by helping EPA ensure that its employees have access to a robust set of health and wellness services. For example, ERG has developed content for more than 50 of the health and wellness topics (e.g., heart disease, diabetes, stress) on the Agency’s intranet, created a library of wellness webinars, and developed a National Maternal Wellness Program that provides all employees access to a board-certified lactation consultant. ERG also prepares quarterly newsletters with health and wellness tips that link to a wealth of additional resources and organizes and hosts annual fitness challenges to encourage healthy lifestyle choices along with friendly competition among EPA employees. ERG looks forward to our continuing support of this program to help EPA employees achieve and maintain their health and well-being.
