Throughout my career, I have enjoyed integrating my engineering background and environmental program expertise to design data systems and tools that effectively convey complex environmental information in a way that provides context and meaning to the public.
Meghan Camp, an ERG vice president, has dedicated her 20+ year career to advancing the application of science and technology to protect human health and the environment. With her chemical engineering background, she brings a scientific perspective to conceptualizing data management tools and IT applications. For more than two decades, she has applied this perspective in dozens of projects for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and earned a strong track record for successfully managing large, multi-disciplinary teams to develop complex IT applications for EPA.
Meghan started her career providing regulatory development support to EPA’s water program and subsequently supported EPA’s enforcement program, working with data across virtually all environmental media and regulatory requirements. Her site visits, field sampling, and data analysis work provided her with invaluable real-world insight into the requirements and monitoring techniques that generate environmental data. Since 2012, she has focused on supporting data management and IT projects for EPA’s Office of Compliance, including leading the development of EPA’s Enforcement and Compliance History Online application. Through her ECHO and earlier data management and IT support projects, Meghan has worked with nearly all of EPA’s major environmental data systems. The deep understanding of EPA’s data systems and end users that she gained from this collective experience enables her to offer creative solutions for data presentations that enhance user capabilities and understanding of results.
In addition to her project work, Meghan manages ERG’s Digital and Information Solutions Group, overseeing staff professional development, hiring IT professionals, and coordinating IT resources across ERG. She holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Bucknell University and is a certified Project Management Professional and Scrum Master.
