ERG High Emitter Profile (HEP) Upgrade Offer
HEP Upgrade
This update to ERG’s High Emitter Profile (HEP) is available
to existing customers who wish to keep their HEP software as current
as possible. ERG no longer offers the original version of the HEP.
The HEP is designed to help administrators of Inspection and Maintenance
(I/M) programs decide which vehicles are most likely to fail their
next I/M Test. The HEP decodes the VINs of the given vehicles and
looks up historical failure probabilities (Fprobs) for the given
vehicle types. It then uses the generic information about each vehicle
(such as model year, vehicle type, Fprob, etc., as well as the previous
I/M test information for that specific vehicle (given in the input
file) and determines the probability that the vehicle will fail
its next I/M inspection. The output of the HEP is a ranking of the
vehicles from the ones most likely to fail the next I/M inspection,
to those that are least likely to fail. Accordingly, the HEP has
been most attractive to people implementing and administering I/M
programs.
ERG’s HEP update includes:
- VIN decodes current through the 2002 model year.
- Fprob look-ups that incorporate I/M data through October 2002.
- Full functionality on SUN workstations.
- Technical support.
Retail price for the HEP update is $27,778. Customers
upgrading from the most recent version of the HEP qualify for up
to a 10% discount ($2,778). Inquire at the time
of order.

For 90 days from the date of their HEP upgrade purchase, customers
are also eligible to purchase a Windows version of the Fprob Lookup
