ERG’s Dr. Chi Ho Sham Participates in MIT Water Summit
Dr. Chi Ho Sham recently participated in the MIT Water Summit 2018: Thirsty Cities, where experts discussed strategies to address increasing water scarcity in cities around the world. Chi Ho introduced the summit topic and moderated an expert panel that assessed the potential for technological innovation to build more resilient urban water systems. In particular, panelists discussed the use of big data and sensor technologies, which have been gaining acceptance in the water sector. These technologies will greatly improve our efficiency and understanding of water uses in the urban environment. In addition, advances in water reuse (for both potable and non-potable supplies) are also gaining public acceptance, especially in areas with regular water shortage.
