ERG Builds Reporting System to Disclose Chemicals in Children’s Products
ERG is working with the Northeast Waste Management Officials Association to construct a chemical reporting system for the states of Washington, Vermont, and Oregon. These states require anyone selling or manufacturing children’s products to disclose whether their products contain any of 61 chemicals of concern. The ERG-built High Priority Chemicals Data System will be hosted on cloud.gov and support data access via the Exchange Network’s virtual exchange services. Ultimately, ERG aims to help these states lead the nation in revealing what types of products contain the chemicals of concern. The system will also be flexible enough to accommodate additional states and other types of product disclosures.
