NOAA Publishes ERG Report on the Significance of California’s Ocean Economy

Report cover

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration recently published an ERG report exploring six economic sectors in California that depend on ocean resources. The National Significance of California's Ocean Economy focuses primarily on the marine transportation and coastal tourism sectors, and includes case studies of how California's coast supports local economies throughout the country. This report helps make the case for developing an Ocean Economy Satellite Account to measure the component of U.S. gross domestic product that is ocean-related.
