ERG Supports Development of Web Tool for Public Health Assessments

Selected EPC Results Details page of the tool

ERG recently helped the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) develop a new web tool to assist with data analysis for public health assessments. The ATSDR Exposure Point Concentration (EPC) Tool is an R-Shiny web application with a user-friendly interface that allows health assessors to quickly and accurately calculate EPCs for discrete environmental data. The tool automates complicated steps from ATSDR’s recent guidance documents for calculating EPCs, and it provides health assessors with a rich set of supporting statistics and data visualization features to help them better understand their data and the EPC calculations. Health assessors can use the statistics calculated with the tool to evaluate acute, intermediate, and chronic exposures to a wide variety of contaminants.
